Understanding ‘Compassionate Excellence’ in Practice: Obstetrics and Gynaecology Report

The Oxford Healthcare Values Partnership, led by Professor Joshua Hordern, wanted to explore what the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust’s value of ‘compassionate excellence’ meant for the department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Knowledge exchange workshops provided a supportive environment to explore what compassion meant to the team, and identify how they could develop their understanding and practice of compassion within the service. This report provides a summary of what was discussed and the policy and practice changes proposed.
